Jazz, The Only Kind Of Genre That Can Be Both Sexy And Classy..

Jazz is that type of music that makes you want to click your fingers and tap your foot with the music. When someone says jazz you think of some black guy blasting out a load of sax solos, another guy with a huge double bass producing some awesome riffs, well at least that’s what I think. Smooth jazz is for dates, its slow, its sexy, its got some black guy with a deep voice saying “oooh yeeah”. But jazz can also be for just chillin’ out, you’ve had a long day at work, its been tough, so you fall on your bed and just listen to some jazz, there’s something about it that just carries you away, its quite an amazing feeling, you almost forget yourself in them long solos, the great thing is, they are not heavy and distorted, they don’t try and cram as much notes as possible in the solo, every note matters, every note is significant and flows beautifully from one note to the next. Its one thing listening to it, but to let enthrall you takes the music to a whole new level, I find there are not many genres of music that does that to you, elevate you to something fantastic. Maybe i’m being a bit over the top, but thats just how I feel.

Sex, Drugs, But No Rock N Roll..

If I may be so bold for a bit…

Whats up with today’s music!! A time not so long ago, there were musicians that would write lyrics that would invigorate your mind and soul, riffs that would be out of this world, guitar solos that were so awesome, the Sun would bow down to it. Lyrics used to represent the times, be it good or bad. But today, music seems to be focused on what we ‘common folk’ don’t have, Money, women/guys every materialistic thing on this Earth. I really do fear that the value of music has now lost its meaning, music seems to be the same mainstream rubbish over and over, no originality, no lyrics that represent the times (unless our society is now all about sex, drugs but no rock and roll) I would like to invite you all to listen to the music that gave the foundations for today’s music, I’m sure when they laid these foundations, they didn’t expect the building on top to be what it is today. If you already listen to the good old music, then spread the word, that Rock N Roll is coming back to town! Along with blues, jazz and rock, in all its glorious forms.
